Busy, busy, busy

  1. Installed Google voice on my blackberry .
  2. Fixed "playing with ice and food coloring", Dan told me the link for the rest of the pictures didn't work.
  3. To fix the above, I had to create the gallery on Pikshures in order to have a place to link to.
  4. Helped Sheriff Killroy (Al Porter) by creating a MySpace page (for musicians) for him. It's located here.
  5. Looked for and found Grumpy's Cafe. This place is right around the corner from La Bodega in Tremont. It's our next place targeted to check out food wise.

La Bodega Again

For lunch today I picked up food from La Bodega. I had a #47 and Mary had the #15. Both were really good.
This time I took pictures too! Above is the # 47.

And to the left is the #15.

La Bodega

After walking in the cemetery we went to La Bodega because all that walking makes you hungry. Mary got #27 again, but as a wrap (I had this before and shared it with her, well, actually she took it and wouldn't give it back) and I got #31, a Cajun Chicken Salad, Corn, Black Beans, Colored Peppers, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, as a Wrap. This may have been the best sandwich I've gotten yet from there. There's a little bit of heat, but it's balanced by the rest of the ingredients. Every things always fresh and even the next day (because sometimes the portions are generous, especially the wraps) it's still good. This is my new favorite!

Lake View and La Bodega

On Saturday early in the morning, maybe 10 or so, Mary and I and the pooch went to Lake View Cemetery. It wasn't the first time but its been a while and it's just a great place. This is not some ordinary run of the mill cemetery (not to run down any of them) but it's beautiful, historical, hilly and flat and they allow dogs! Plus it's quiet (consider the clientele). There's a dam, a creek, Eliot Ness' grave, Rockefeller buried there, you name it. Ray Chapman, the only major league ballplayer killed in a game (by a pitched ball, no less) rests comfortably there. President Garfield (no, not the cat) and his wife have a huge tomb at the top of a hill. I took about 180 pikshures and we did about 2 miles estimated and then hunger struck. What to do? Well, we haven't gotten over La Bodega's menu yet, so we went there. Mary got a pedestrian B.L.T. (#16) on a wrap and I, a little more adventurous, had the Turkey with Smoked Gouda, Caramelized Onions, Sprouts and Balsamic Mayo(#27) on Italian. Sorry, no pictures, but it smelled so good once we got home they were gone.

La Bodega

Finally made it to La Bodega in Tremont today. I ordered the sun dried tomato chicken wrap(#61) and Mary tried the roast beef(#62) as a wrap. The food was ready in about ten minutes and came wrapped in foil and butcher paper. We both preferred the chicken over the roast beef but we both like roast beef a little more cooked. However, that said, the beef tender and not stringy. The potato salad was good too. We look forward to exploring more of this menu. Their web site is here.

USS Cod tour

Went with the boy's from work(Jim, Dan, Joe and Norm) yesterday and toured The USS Cod, a world war 2 era submarine located in between Burke Lakefront Airport and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

After that we walked about a half mile or so along East 9th down to Vincenza's (reviewed here and here) on Prospect by East 4th and had lunch. Everybody agreed the food was good.

When we were done, we walked out the side entrance into the Colonial Marketplace next door and oohed and aahed.

Since we were already acting like tourists we headed down East 4th past the restaurants and Pickwick and Frolic to Euclid Ave. took a left, went past the House of Blues and hit Public Square. More pictures can be found here (Norms) and here (Mine) and here at Dans site.
