Ramly Burger

Like anyone else, I was searching for one thing and found another, but I don't remember what the original quest was for. No matter, because what I found was a Ramly Burger!

These are popular in Singapore and Malaysia and while I'm sure they aren't healthy, they sure look like they taste good. I found out that the patty in this video is chicken, which is closer to the original Rambly Burger.

And since we're on a burger theme, take a look at this badboy!

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds! If my brother Norm tells me about them one more time, I'm gonna pull my eyeballs out! No, wait! I should pull his out because Chia seeds are good for wounds! I'll bet he doesn't know that one. Okay, I'm done venting. Actually, on a hunch, "I" investigated Chia seeds(yeah, the Chia pet seeds) and it turns out they are good for you in a variety of ways. As a full disclosure(or maybe "fool"), I sort of started this by picking up both of "Kevins" books for my Bro. Kevin Trudeau is the source and perpetrator of this latest crazy idea. If you're not familiar with this guy you must live under a rock. He's the "they don't want you to know about" guy, as in Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About and The Weight Loss Cure They Don't Want You to Know About. You might have caught him on late night TV telling busty playboy women about flushing his colon. Here's a link to Wikipedia about him. Yeah, that guy. Anyhow, Norms been burning up the pages and then lecturing me about it all. So I Googled "Chia seeds" and they are good for you and there's a lot of uses for them, kind of like George Washington Carver and peanuts. They can heal wounds (sorry Norm, heres your eyes back and some seeds) they pack nutrition and Omega3 fatty stuff (God, I'm sounding like Kev and Norm) and the Aztecs loved them(and I love the Aztecs). Theres a place called "nutsonline.com"(who knew, I'm one of them) that sells them, doctors recommend them and some people say they make you "peppy"! Well, I'm going to wrap this up by saying that I am going to try them, mostly for the peppiness! I'll post in the future after this experiment.

Good Friday Shoreline Tour

On Good Friday, I took Dan and his brother Andy on a tour of the Cleveland lakefront beginning at Wildwood to Gordon Park and from there to East 9th and Voinovich Park and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Heading west, we pulled into Edgewater Park, but then headed back east to Wendy Park where the Cuyahoga River empties into Lake Erie. Then west to Edgewater and finally Vincenzas on Prospect for food.

Sony Blu - Ray player. Model BDP-N460

We bought this player on December 16. I installed it that night. We have Netflix and one of the reasons we got this was to stream video from Netflix.. It stumbled on playing Midway(streaming) for some reason(the night after it started O.K.). Then we tried Joe Kidd. It played without a flaw at a quality we think you won't see from a DVD. The next night we watched Twister(streaming) and it was great.

On Friday, December 18, I picked my daughter up from the airport and got a bite to eat(Vincenzas) and after we got home I wanted to show her our new toy(the way it streamed video). Well, to my embarrassment, it didn't work! I did trouble shooting and there was no problem on our network. I called Netfix. We determined the problem was on Sonys end of the bargain. I found there was a problem with Sonys "Provisioning server" and reported it to Sony. Seems it was the first they heard of it. One of the main reasons we bought this product was the streaming capability from Netflix. I never realized that Sony was involved in the deal. This is how I understand it:
  1. Netfix streaming:
  • You put movies on your instant queue
  • You stream them to your computer using Internet Explorer directly from Netflix
  1. Sony through Netflix:
  •  You put movies on your instant queue
  • You stream them to your Sony device through Sony and then Netflix
So, what happened was, I spent an 2 hours or so talking to Netfix and then Sony telling them about a problem that should not be a problem. Something we should all know: If Netfix has a problem its one thing. But If you buy this product (Sony Blu - Ray player. Model BDP-N460) if Sony has a problem then you have a problem also.

Azman Quality Meats

Friday afternoon, before I went down by Wildwood, I was hungry and hadn't been to Azman's in awhile. I wanted, I needed, smokies. So, to Azmans I went. To my horror, there were no smokies hanging on the rack. The nice lady asked if she could help, and I said, "there's no smokies, I guess not". She said "hang on, hon" and yelled down the stairs. She said "hold on, hon, they're just coming out. You ever had 'em hot, hon"? I said, no. At that moment, the butcher came up the stairs and said the same thing, "he never had 'em hot"? Feeling kind of dumb, here.

Well, nice lady broke off a hunk of smokie and said, "here, try this". Nirvana, or close to it. Usually, these things are hanging there with that shriveled (ahem) kind of look, a day or so old, but these were plump, juicy and hot, right out of the smoker. Let's just say they never got cold.

La Bodega

Finally made it to La Bodega in Tremont today. I ordered the sun dried tomato chicken wrap(#61) and Mary tried the roast beef(#62) as a wrap. The food was ready in about ten minutes and came wrapped in foil and butcher paper. We both preferred the chicken over the roast beef but we both like roast beef a little more cooked. However, that said, the beef tender and not stringy. The potato salad was good too. We look forward to exploring more of this menu. Their web site is here.
